This wasn’t the plan. It’s so much better.
I didn’t set out to start a brewery. I set out to find something worth drinking.
I was cutting back on alcohol and quickly realized that the alternatives were…not great. Water is fine. Soda is meh. But what I was looking for was something with complexity, something that felt like a real drink — something I genuinely enjoyed. So, in the spirit of DIY, I started brewing kombucha at home and tinkering with flavors. What I didn’t expect was that I’d never want to stop.
What started as a personal experiment turned into an obsession. The brewing process hooked me. The flavors kept delighting me. I loved the creative process, the experimentation. And when I started sharing bottles with friends and watching their faces light up (including those who swore they didn’t like kombucha!) I knew I was on to something.
Resting Booch Face (RBF) was born out of that kitchen experiment. And the name? It’s inspired by my best childhood friend — someone who supposedly (others have said, not me!) has resting bitch face but is honestly one of the kindest, sweetest humans I’ve ever known. A reminder that you should never judge a booch by its cover.
The dream has always been bigger than the bottles, though. One day soon, RBF will be a place – a tap room where people gather, where events happen, and where community is built over delicious drinks. Until then, we’re brewing in small batches and sharing with anyone who wants in, and growing something worth showing up for.
The booch is just the beginning.

Brews
Our recipe is simple: tea, SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria & Yeast), and time is all it takes to make our kombucha. We flavor with fruits, herbs, and other natural ingredients.
Sustainable
Practices
We compost all of our food waste; we use reusable glass growlers; we turn discarded SCOBYs into dog treats. Wherever possible, our aim is to use the resources at our fingertips and reduce waste.

Our Booch
Because we brew traditionally, our kombucha ferments the way nature intended. That means genuine complexity, healthy bacteria, natural organic acids, and — depending on the batch — a small amount of naturally occurring alcohol.
Even our non-alcoholic kombuchas have a trace amount (less than 0.5%) of alcohol. We keep the ABV down by halting the fermentation early and adding some very, very sour kombucha to keep the flavor profile in range, without letting the alcohol levels get too high.
